GEEDITOR / AC3 → AAC
About this conversion · AC3 → AAC
Make a AAC listening copy from AC3 for a player or service that accepts this format. Use the best source you have rather than repeatedly converting one compressed copy into another.
The current engine uses this output preset: AAC / ADTS · 256 kb/s · 48,000 Hz · 2 ch. These values describe the output, not the source recording.
Audio output is mixed to two channels by this engine. Check the channel layout and duration; WAV and AIFF are exported as 16-bit PCM, not as an untouched copy of the source.
How to convert
- Click “Choose files” and select the original AC3 file. Start with one file when comparing settings.
- Check that the output selector shows AAC. The instructions here describe this choice; changing the output can change which settings apply.
- Click “Convert files”, then save the result from its file row. “Download all” puts completed files into a ZIP; it does not combine their contents.
- Listen to the downloaded AAC at the beginning, middle and end. Compare duration, loudness and channel balance with the AC3 source, and test it in the actual destination player.
