GEEDITOR / WMA → FLAC
About this conversion · WMA → FLAC
Make a FLAC copy of WMA for a workflow that accepts lossless audio storage. FLAC can avoid an additional lossy encoding step, but the source and this tool’s channel processing still determine what sound reaches the result.
The current engine uses this output preset: FLAC · compression_level=5 · 2 ch. These values describe the output, not the source recording.
Audio output is mixed to two channels by this engine. Check the channel layout and duration; WAV and AIFF are exported as 16-bit PCM, not as an untouched copy of the source.
How to convert
- Click “Choose files” and select the original WMA file. Start with one file when comparing settings.
- Check that the output selector shows FLAC. The instructions here describe this choice; changing the output can change which settings apply.
- Click “Convert files”, then save the result from its file row. “Download all” puts completed files into a ZIP; it does not combine their contents.
- Listen to the downloaded FLAC at the beginning, middle and end. Compare duration, loudness and channel balance with the WMA source, and test it in the actual destination player.
