GEEDITOR / XLSX → NDJSON
About this conversion · XLSX → NDJSON
Prepare XLSX data as NDJSON for an importer or script. Match the destination’s expected delimiter, row structure and treatment of identifiers before exporting the full dataset.
JSON output is an array of row arrays, including the header row; it is not automatically an array of keyed objects. NDJSON output places one row array on each line. Confirm that the receiving program expects this structure.
This route rebuilds supported cell values, not the complete workbook. Charts, macros and formatting are not preserved. Formulas become cached results or inert text; date serials can remain numbers, so check dates and identifiers after import.
CSV, TSV, JSON and NDJSON output use only the first worksheet. To export another sheet, move or copy it into the first position before saving the source file. This interface has no worksheet selector.
How to convert
- Click “Choose files” and select the original XLSX file. Start with one file when comparing settings.
- Check that the output selector shows NDJSON. The instructions here describe this choice; changing the output can change which settings apply.
- Click “Convert files”, then save the result from its file row. “Download all” puts completed files into a ZIP; it does not combine their contents.
- Open the NDJSON result and compare row counts, headers, empty cells, dates and identifiers with the XLSX source. Preserve codes such as 00123 as text in the receiving application; do not assume its automatic type detection is correct.
