GEEDITOR / SVG → JPG

About this conversion · SVG → JPG

Need a JPG for an upload form or a photo workflow? Convert SVG to JPG here. For a transparent logo or a screenshot with small text, keeping a suitable lossless original may be a better choice than making a JPEG.

For a photo upload, first check whether the service limits pixels, file size or both. Resize only as much as needed, then adjust compression. Changing both at once makes it harder to see what caused lost detail.

An SVG input is rasterized for this workflow. External fonts or linked images may be unavailable, and editable vector paths are not retained in the raster result. Make necessary resources self-contained before conversion.

Worked example — Calculated example; not a measured file-size result
Input: 2400 × 1600 px
Maximum image width: 1600 px
Output: 1600 × 1067 px

How to convert

  1. Click “Choose files” and select the original SVG file. Start with one file when comparing settings.
  2. Check that the output selector shows JPG. The instructions here describe this choice; changing the output can change which settings apply.
  3. Open “Conversion settings” below the file area before starting conversion. Set only the options relevant to the output described below.
  4. Leave “Maximum image width” empty to keep the current dimensions. Enter a smaller width, such as 1600, only when you want to reduce a wider image; the height follows its proportions.
  5. For “Image quality”, start at 85% and compare small text and edges before reducing it. The range is 60–100%; 100% does not promise lossless output.
  6. Choose “Opaque background” before exporting transparent artwork to an opaque format. The default is white, so white artwork needs a contrasting background to remain visible.
  7. Click “Convert files”, then save the result from its file row. “Download all” puts completed files into a ZIP; it does not combine their contents.
  8. Open the downloaded JPG image at 100% zoom. Compare dimensions, orientation, fine text, transparent edges and colors with the SVG original before uploading it elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

What does the 60–100% quality setting actually change?

For “Image quality”, start at 85% and compare small text and edges before reducing it. The range is 60–100%; 100% does not promise lossless output.

Why is the converted file larger?

Test one image at the original dimensions first. If the result is too large, reduce dimensions to the actual display requirement, then compare quality settings. A different extension alone does not guarantee a smaller file.

What happens to transparent areas?

Choose “Opaque background” before exporting transparent artwork to an opaque format. The default is white, so white artwork needs a contrasting background to remain visible. JPG cannot retain transparency. Check the chosen opaque background, edges and compression artifacts.

What should I check for this particular source format?

An SVG input is rasterized for this workflow. External fonts or linked images may be unavailable, and editable vector paths are not retained in the raster result. Make necessary resources self-contained before conversion.
