GEEDITOR / SVG → PNG
About this conversion · SVG → PNG
Make a PNG copy of your SVG image for graphics work or a service that asks for PNG. PNG avoids another lossy image-compression step, but it cannot turn a blurry source into a sharper picture.
PNG can keep transparent pixels that already exist. A white area in a JPG is still a white area after conversion; removing it requires background removal, not a different filename extension.
An SVG input is rasterized for this workflow. External fonts or linked images may be unavailable, and editable vector paths are not retained in the raster result. Make necessary resources self-contained before conversion.
Worked example — Calculated example; not a measured file-size result
Input: 2400 × 1600 px
Maximum image width: 1600 px
Output: 1600 × 1067 px
How to convert
- Click “Choose files” and select the original SVG file. Start with one file when comparing settings.
- Check that the output selector shows PNG. The instructions here describe this choice; changing the output can change which settings apply.
- Open “Conversion settings” below the file area before starting conversion. Set only the options relevant to the output described below.
- Leave “Maximum image width” empty to keep the current dimensions. Enter a smaller width, such as 1600, only when you want to reduce a wider image; the height follows its proportions.
- Click “Convert files”, then save the result from its file row. “Download all” puts completed files into a ZIP; it does not combine their contents.
- Open the downloaded PNG image at 100% zoom. Compare dimensions, orientation, fine text, transparent edges and colors with the SVG original before uploading it elsewhere.
